We aren’t going to be talking about any membrane keyboard on this list. Those aren’t technically the type of gaming keyboard that everyone looks for. We’re going to be talking about the mechanical keyboards that use independent switches for every key. Having the independent switch for every key means all of your inputs will be read 100% of the time!
We’re only going to be including gaming mechanical keyboards that have the 100% keyboard form factor(the generic keyboard you see with the Numpad to the right side) and the other popular keyboard form factor – the Ten-keyless or TKL for short, which is the same as the 100% just without the Numpad. Some prefer the TKL form factor because it saves space.

Redragon K552 Kumara
We’re going to start off with the best budget gaming keyboard on our list, why? Because this is the cheapest gaming keyboard, coming in at less than $50. Though that doesn’t necessarily mean that it doesn’t give an excellent performance. This keyboard has the Ten-Keyless form factor. It sacrifices some of the Numpad convenience for some more space on your desk!
The Redragon K552 Kumara offers 87 non-conflict switches – which means you can press multiple keys without blocking any of the other keys. This keyboard comes with an RGB backlight and double-shot ABS keycaps, it also has the full 12-key dedicated media. This keyboard commonly comes with the Outemu blue switches to give you the clicky-key feel.
Razer Blackwidow X Tournament Edition Chroma
We’ll get a little more expensive but still maintain the budget-ness by staying under $100. This gaming keyboard has the same form factor as the first keyboard on our list – a TKL space saver, with the same clicky-key feeling having the Razer green switches. It does have the Razer branding, so it’s going to be a little more expensive than our first keyboard.
HyperX Alloy FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboards
Here we have our first 100% keyboard form factor. This whole form factor is typically more expensive than the previously mentioned Ten-keyless form factors because of the extra switches used in the Numpad. Though I did say that it’s the first 100%, the HyperX Alloy FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard does come with the TKL variation, if you still want more space.
The HyperX Alloy does come in at $90 for the TKL variation, but shelling out an extra $20 shouldn’t be too much for the 100%. This gaming keyboard comes with the “floating key” design that shows off its RGB lighting. You have the choice of going with the gold standard of Cherry MX switches, but the switches that HyperX offers might be quite a good match for you.
